log
@Update to 1.000180

Upstream changes:
1.000180 2026-09-11 10:37:49-07:00 America/Los_Angeles
    - Apply --cover-exclude-dirs to coverage produced by processes yath did not launch, such as a descendant that loads the coverage plugin itself.
    - Coverage events now carry file and sub counts instead of the full file map, which is already reproduced in the aggregated coverage data.
    - Resolve exclusions against the root a coverage event names, so a producer measuring against its own directory is filtered correctly rather than by guess.
    - The log now records coverage events as they are sent onward, with exclusions applied and the file map collapsed.
1.000179 2026-09-08 14:40:06-07:00 America/Los_Angeles
    - Add --cover-exclude-dirs to leave a directory, and everything under it, out of file coverage and coverage metrics; useful when a dependency tree is installed inside the working directory.
    - File coverage and coverage metrics now require Test2::Plugin::Cover 0.000029 or newer.
1.000178 2026-09-04 13:37:49-07:00 America/Los_Angeles
    - Cut the time `make test` takes by roughly five times, by removing fixed waits from the test suite and moving its slowest tests behind AUTHOR_TESTING.
    - Make the wait loop in App::Yath::Tester sleep the fraction of a second it asks for instead of not sleeping at all, so it stops spinning while a yath run is in progress.
    - Escalate to KILL when App::Yath::Tester gives up waiting on a yath run, so a run that ignores TERM no longer hangs the test file that started it.
1.000177 2026-08-26 09:41:18-07:00 America/Los_Angeles
    - Print a note every ten seconds while App::Yath::Tester waits on a yath run, so a slow run does not look like a hung test to the harness running it.
    - Stop t/integration/resource.t from failing when the scheduler does not hand the same number of tests to each resource slot.
1.000176 2026-08-25 11:05:26-07:00 America/Los_Angeles
    - Stop a conflict between two installed plugins from aborting every yath command; a plugin whose options cannot be included is now reported and skipped.
    - Stop the isolate_stdout test in t/unit/App/Yath/Util.t from failing when a module writes to STDERR during global destruction in the forked child.
    - Stop output that is not TAP, such as a warning from a module, from ending a subtest the harness is still parsing out of a test's STDOUT.
    - Stop failure_cases.t, concurrency.t, stall_report.t, and the retry-timeout fixture from failing on slow or heavily loaded machines.
1.000175 2026-08-20 11:31:30-07:00 America/Los_Angeles
    - Add the # HARNESS-SHARES-XXX directive, a shared claim on a name: any number of tests sharing XXX run at once, but none alongside a # HARNESS-CONFLICTS-XXX test, which claims XXX exclusively.
    - Show a shares column alongside conflicts in the pending and running tables of yath status.
    - Add --stall-report, off unless asked for, which prints diagnostics when the scheduler stops starting tests while tests are pending and could run.
    - When --stall-report is enabled, yath processes install a SIGUSR1 handler that prints a stack trace instead of exiting, so a stalled run can be diagnosed.
    - Add --stall-report-dir to say where --stall-report writes its JSON bundle; it defaults to the directory yath was run from, and a copy also goes to the log.
    - Fix yath test hanging forever instead of exiting when the event stream ends unexpectedly.
1.000174 2026-08-17 13:00:43-07:00 America/Los_Angeles
    - Teach find_yath() to check $ENV{YATH_SCRIPT}, the directories paired with @@INC entries, and PATH, so an uninstalled yath script (as CPAN smokers use) is found instead of aborting the test run.
    - Make the find_yath() failure report every path it checked, plus the current directory, @@INC, PATH, and PERL5LIB, so a report from an unhandled environment can be acted on.
    - Stop find_yath() from looking for ./scripts/yath, which this dist no longer ships; the yath script re-execs into a local one itself and then names it in YATH_SCRIPT.
    - Let find_yath() accept a yath script that is readable but not executable, since it is run as an argument to perl; a script found via PATH still needs the exec bit.
1.000173 2026-08-16 22:09:40-07:00 America/Los_Angeles
    - Skip @@INC hook entries when yath snapshots @@INC, so tools that install one (such as Carmel) no longer abort the run.
    - Require App::Yath::Script 2.000017, which stops the yath script from destroying an @@INC hook when it re-execs itself for dev-libs.
    - Fix spelling in the help text for -j, --rerun-plugin, --cover-maybe-from, and the persistent runner commands.
    - Add [PruneCruft] to dist.ini so build artifacts (blib/, pm_to_blib, MYMETA.*) no longer leak into release tarballs.
    - Fix the collector pinning a CPU core: it now sleeps between polls instead of busy-looping whenever a job is active.
    - Keep .yath.rc in the release tarball; [PruneCruft] drops every root dotfile and was undoing the [GatherFile] that ships it.
    - Run xt/ author tests at release via [RunExtraTests].
    - Replace AI_AND_LLM_POLICY.txt with AI_AND_LLM_POLICY.md, barring bot accounts from tickets and pull requests, restating how AI use is noted, and allowing the source as AI/LLM training data.
    - Fix t/integration/coverage.t failing under Test2::Plugin::Cover 0.000028, which sorts each sub's 'from' list into a different but equally valid order.
1.000172 2026-04-28 21:15:51-07:00 America/Los_Angeles
    - Fix t/integration/help.t to strip the App::Yath::Script::V# detection
message correctly so the test passes under plain prove
1.000171 2026-04-23 03:11:01-07:00 America/Los_Angeles
    - Depend on the App::Yath::Script dist for the yath script
    - Bump preload integration test watchdog from 15s to 60s to reduce
flakiness on slow CPAN testers hosts
1.000170 2026-04-09 22:35:24-07:00 America/Los_Angeles
    - Fix encoding test flake: defer :utf8 decode until after child exits
to avoid corrupting multi-byte characters during non-blocking reads
1.000169 2026-04-08 15:32:47-07:00 America/Los_Angeles
1.000168 2026-04-07 09:20:34-07:00 America/Los_Angeles
    - Add --fail-on-resource-skip
    - Detect and report scheduler death instead of hanging forever
    - Make scheduler resilient to transient errors
1.000167 2026-04-05 13:52:36-07:00 America/Los_Angeles
    - Change sleeps to be a bit more sensible
1.000166 2026-04-05 13:41:01-07:00 America/Los_Angeles
    - No Changes since trial
1.000165 2026-04-04 19:58:16-07:00 America/Los_Angeles (TRIAL RELEASE)
    - Bugfixes assited by an AI audit
    - Fixes to busy loops (AI Audit)
    - Fixes to reset EOF handles when needed (Some AI, one a PR)
    - Added the --resource-timeout option (AI Assisted)
    - Note AI assisted in these changes, but I (Exodist) reviewed them carefully.

    - Update to reindex after accidental 2.0 release

1.1
log
@Import Test2-Harness-1.000161 as devel/p5-Test2-Harness.

Test2::Harness is the backend code that handles running/processing
the tests. In general a user will not use it directly, instead you
should probably be looking at App::Yath which is the UI layer built
around Test2::Harness.
