This allows for other host interface chips that use the same keyboards and mice, such as the ones in the ARM IOMD20, ARM7500, and SA-1111. The PC-compatible driver is still called pckbc(4), and the new abstraction layer is "pckbport", so the child devices have moved from sys/dev/pckbc to sys/dev/pckbport, which also contains some code shared between all host controllers. To avoid incompatibility, pckbdreg.h is still installed in /usr/include/dev/pckbc. In theory, this shouldn't cause any behavioural changes in the drivers concerned. Thy just use rather more function pointers than before. Tested on i386 and (with a new host driver) acorn32. This merge changes the device switch tables from static array to dynamically generated by config(8). - All device switches is defined as a constant structure in device drivers. - The new grammer ``device-major'' is introduced to ``files''. device-major char [block ] [] - All device major numbers must be listed up in port dependent majors. by using this grammer. - Added the new naming convention. The name of the device switch must be _[bc]devsw for auto-generation of device switch tables. - The backward compatibility of loading block/character device switch by LKM framework is broken. This is necessary to convert from block/character device major to device name in runtime and vice versa. - The restriction to assign device major by LKM is completely removed. We don't need to reserve LKM entries for dynamic loading of device switch. - In compile time, device major numbers list is packed into the kernel and the LKM framework will refer it to assign device major number dynamically. @ text @d1 1 a1 1 # $NetBSD: files.malta,v 1.3 2002/04/16 20:50:19 thorpej Exp $ a8 1 file arch/evbmips/malta/disksubr.c d15 1 @ 1.3 log @* Move the mii_bitbang attribute into dev/mii/files.mii * Pull in dev/mii/files.mii from conf/files, rather than playing the magic "files include order" dance in N machine-dependent configuration definitions. @ text @d1 1 a1 1 # $NetBSD: files.malta,v 1.2 2002/03/18 02:33:19 simonb Exp $ a8 1 file arch/evbmips/malta/conf.c d15 1 a35 2 major { sd = 8 } major { cd = 3 } a38 1 major { wd = 4 } a51 7 major { md = 6 } # RAIDframe major { raid = 16 } # Logical disks major { ld = 17 } a94 1 major { fd = 0 } @ 1.3.8.1 log @file files.malta was added on branch nathanw_sa on 2002-09-17 21:14:20 +0000 @ text @d1 111 @ 1.3.8.2 log @Catch up to -current. @ text @a0 100 # $NetBSD: files.malta,v 1.3.8.1 2002/09/17 21:14:20 nathanw Exp $ file arch/evbmips/malta/malta_bus_io.c file arch/evbmips/malta/malta_bus_mem.c file arch/evbmips/malta/malta_dma.c file arch/evbmips/malta/malta_intr.c file arch/evbmips/malta/autoconf.c file arch/evbmips/malta/leds.c file arch/evbmips/malta/machdep.c file arch/mips/mips/bus_dma.c file arch/evbmips/evbmips/clock.c file arch/evbmips/evbmips/conf_common.c file arch/evbmips/evbmips/disksubr.c file arch/evbmips/evbmips/interrupt.c file arch/evbmips/evbmips/yamon.c # XXX should be in arch/mips/yamon ?
