At this point it is highly unlikely this 1999 device still has users, but it still comes up in the context of maxv's USB-fuzzing (and any device could pretend to be a urio(4)), so it's best to get rid of it. Renamed all major entries to obsolete, as was done in previous removals. This still requires an update to sanitizers, but they're located in "external", perhaps it should be first committed upstream? Proposed on tech-kern a month ago. @ text @d1 1 a1 1 # $NetBSD: majors.algor,v 1.27 2019/01/28 02:28:56 dholland Exp $ d71 1 a71 1 device-major nsmb char 71 nsmb @ 1.27 log @Systematize handling of removed drivers. - Every driver that was removed and whose number hasn't already been reused is now listed with a commented-out "obsolete" line. - The format of these has been systematized. Future format changes can probably be safely done with a script. - This does not include a few cases of assignments that only lasted a couple days, or stuff from before major reorgs. Some of these may be included nonetheless, because there was a lot of ground to cover and therefore not a lot of time to dig into history in detail. Note that the obsolete listings do not mean the major numbers can never be reused; that's up to portmasters and/or core. It does mean that they won't be reused by accident, however, which in some cases (depending on the driver, how widely used it was, its family of device nodes, their default permissions, etc.) can be quite dangerous. Note that some of the things now explicitly listed as obsolete are really ancient history. My scan went back as far as when the majors files were added. This merge changes the device switch tables from static array to dynamically generated by config(8). - All device switches is defined as a constant structure in device drivers. - The new grammer ``device-major'' is introduced to ``files''. device-major char [block ] [] - All device major numbers must be listed up in port dependent majors. by using this grammer. - Added the new naming convention. The name of the device switch must be _[bc]devsw for auto-generation of device switch tables. - The backward compatibility of loading block/character device switch by LKM framework is broken. This is necessary to convert from block/character device major to device name in runtime and vice versa. - The restriction to assign device major by LKM is completely removed. We don't need to reserve LKM entries for dynamic loading of device switch. - In compile time, device major numbers list is packed into the kernel and the LKM framework will refer it to assign device major number dynamically. @ text @d1 1 a1 1 # $NetBSD: majors.algor,v 1.1.2.3 2002/07/09 05:17:56 gehenna Exp $ d68 1 @ 1.2.2.1 log @file majors.algor was added on branch nathanw_sa on 2002-09-17 21:12:30 +0000 @ text @d1 67 @ 1.2.2.2 log @Catch up to -current. @ text @a0 67 # $NetBSD: majors.algor,v 1.2.2.1 2002/09/17 21:12:30 nathanw Exp $ # # Device majors for algor # device-major cons char 0 device-major ctty char 1 device-major mem char 2 device-major swap char 3 block 1 device-major pts char 4 pty device-major ptc char 5 pty device-major log char 6 device-major tun char 7 tun device-major sd char 8 block 8 sd device-major vnd char 9 block 9 vnd device-major filedesc char 10 device-major bpf char 11 bpfilter device-major st char 12 block 2 st device-major cd char 13 block 3 cd device-major ch char 14 ch device-major lkm char 16 lkm device-major audio char 24 audio device-major wsdisplay char 25 wsdisplay device-major com char 26 com device-major ccd char 27 block 7 ccd device-major md char 28 block 6 md device-major wskbd char 29 wskbd device-major wsmouse char 30 wsmouse device-major lpt char 31 lpt device-major ss char 32 ss device-major uk char 33 uk device-major fd char 34 block 0 fdc device-major ipl char 35 ipfilter device-major wd char 36 block 4 wd device-major se char 37 se device-major satlink char 38 satlink device-major rnd char 39 rnd device-major spkr char 41 spkr device-major scsibus char 42 scsibus device-major raid char 43 block 16 raid device-major esh char 44 esh device-major usb char 45 usb device-major uhid char 46 uhid device-major ulpt char 47 ulpt device-major ugen char 48 ugen device-major midi char 49 midi device-major sequencer char 50 sequencer device-major isdn char 51 isdn device-major isdnctl char 52 isdnctl device-major isdnbchan char 53 isdnbchan device-major isdntrc char 54 isdntrc device-major isdntel char 55 isdntel device-major wsmux char 56 wsmux device-major ucom char 57 ucom device-major ses char 58 ses device-major ld char 59 block 17 ld device-major cy char 60 cy device-major cz char 61 cz device-major urio char 62 urio device-major uscanner char 63 uscanner device-major altq char 64 altq device-major mlx char 65 mlx device-major clockctl char 66 clockctl device-major systrace char 67 systrace @ 1.2.2.3 log @Catch up to -current. @ text @d1 1 a1 1 # $NetBSD: majors.algor,v 1.2.2.2 2002/10/18 02:33:49 nathanw Exp $ a67 1 device-major cgd char 68 block 18 cgd @ 1.1 log @file majors.algor was initially added on branch gehenna-devsw. @ text @d1 67 @ 1.1.2.1 log @Add the list of block/character majors. @ text @a0 65 # # Device majors for algor # device-major cons char 0 device-major ctty char 1 device-major mem char 2 device-major swap char 3 block 1 device-major pts char 4 pty device-major ptc char 5 pty device-major log char 6 device-major tun char 7 tun device-major sd char 8 block 8 sd device-major vnd char 9 block 9 vnd device-major filedesc char 10 device-major bpf char 11 bpfilter device-major st char 12 block 2 st device-major cd char 13 block 3 cd device-major ch char 14 ch device-major lkm char 16 lkm device-major audio char 24 audio device-major wsdisplay char 25 wsdisplay device-major com char 26 com device-major ccd char 27 block 7 ccd device-major md char 28 block 6 md device-major wskbd char 29 wskbd device-major wsmouse char 30 wsmouse device-major lpt char 31 lpt device-major ss char 32 ss device-major uk char 33 uk device-major fd char 34 block 0 fdc device-major ipl char 35 ipfilter device-major wd char 36 block 4 wd device-major se char 37 se device-major satlink char 38 satlink device-major rnd char 39 rnd device-major spkr char 41 spkr device-major scsibus char 42 scsibus device-major raid char 43 block 16 raid device-major esh char 44 esh device-major usb char 45 usb device-major uhid char 46 uhid device-major ulpt char 47 ulpt device-major ugen char 48 ugen device-major midi char 49 midi device-major sequencer char 50 sequencer device-major isdn char 51 isdn device-major isdnctl char 52 isdnctl device-major isdnbchan char 53 isdnbchan device-major isdntrc char 54 isdntrc device-major isdntel char 55 isdntel device-major wsmux char 56 wsmux device-major ucom char 57 ucom device-major ses char 58 ses device-major ld char 59 block 17 ld device-major cy char 60 cy device-major cz char 61 cz device-major urio char 62 urio device-major uscanner char 63 uscanner device-major altq char 64 altq device-major mlx char 65 mlx device-major clockctl char 66 clockctl @ 1.1.2.2 log @Add $NetBSD$ @ text @a0 1 # $NetBSD$ @ 1.1.2.3 log @catch up with -current. @ text @d1 1 a1 1 # $NetBSD: majors.algor,v 1.1.2.2 2002/05/30 07:14:40 gehenna Exp $ a66 1 device-major systrace char 67 systrace @
